Drug dealer arrested in park with £4k stash sentenced

A drug dealer who was in possession of around £4,000 worth of heroin and crack cocaine in a Caerau park has been sentenced.
Tegan Smith, 20, was arrested on March 10 after he was seen by officers in plain clothes riding an electric bike in Trelai Park.
Officers, who were in the area following community concerns about anti-social behaviour and drugs, and became suspicious when they witnessed the rider of the bike involved in a drug deal.
Smith was found in possession of £4,000 worth of Class A drugs in a range of packaging, four mobile phones, and cash.
One of the phones contained messages going back to January where he had been offering to supply controlled drugs.

Smith, of Cyntwell Crescent, Caerau, pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin, possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of crack cocaine, cocaine and heroin and possession of criminal property.
He was sentenced at Newport Crown Court on April 8 to three years and eight months in prison.
In a statement, South Wales Police said they have a “zero-tolerance approach to drug dealing”.
The continued: “We will not tolerate drugs in our communities, and we are constantly targeting those are thought to be involved in the supply of controlled drugs.
“We can, and regularly do, act upon the information provided to us by the public, so please keep it coming and continue to work with us.”
