A man from Grangetown has been jailed after he was caught in a “suspected” drug deal last year.
Ibrahim Mustafa, 32, was charged with supplying cocaine on October 5 2024.
He pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced to two years and 10 months in prison at Cardiff Crown Court on March 20.
Mustafa was arrested after police patrolling Grangetown in an unmarked car saw a “suspected drug deal”in a car on Paget Street.
Officers approached the car and noticed Mustafa reach for something and conceal it down his trousers.
Latex gloves, cash, and mobile phones which contained text messages relating to the purchase of drugs, were seized.
An X-ray at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, confirmed a foreign object, suspected of being drugs, in Mustafa’s body.
A statement by South Wales Police on their website said: “We will not tolerate drugs in our communities, and we are constantly targeting those are thought to be involved in the supply of controlled drugs.
“We can, and regularly do, act upon the information provided to us by the public, so please keep it coming and continue to work with us.”
