Nursery places open for September

Parents of children who turn three before the end of August can now apply for nursery places across Cardiff starting this year.

Applications for one of 5,000 part-time places that start in September are open - with parents encouraged to apply before February 24.

English and Welsh medium places are available in 87 schools across the city.

Cardiff Council's cabinet member for education, Cllr Sarah Merry said: "All children aged three to four years are entitled to a part-time nursery place from the start of the term after they have turned three.

"There are plenty of options to choose from and families are encouraged submit their applications on time to help make sure they have the best chance of being offered a preferred nursery class place."

Cardiff is served by seventeen Welsh-medium nursery classes throughout the city.

Welsh-medium education is available to everyone regardless of whether Welsh is spoken at home, and provisions are available to support children with additional languages.

To apply for a nursery place visit the admissions page on Cardiff Council’s website.

People who need help in person can visit a Cardiff Council hub or library.
